Friends

"Rarely do members of the same family grow up under the same roof. "

"The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life."

"The simplest questions are the most profound. Where were you born? Where is your home? Where are you going? What are you doing? Think about these once in a while and watch your answers change. "

Quotes from Richard Bach

This is where I'm at today. I don't think I tell my friends enough just how important they are to me, and that without most of them I wouldn't be the person I am. Whatever you think of me, my friends helped shape who I am at this  very moment(along with many others). So when you judge me, you judge them and when you judge them, you judge me. Do not judge my friends or make assumptions of them, because it won't end well. I don't like to see them upset. End of Diatribe(which be definition, I really don't think this was...but how often do I get to use that word?) On a happier note; the Chicago Bears lost...so you get Muppets.

Talking to Technology

Today I called an employee's cell phone...

"Hi this is Paco...."

"Hi Paco, this is Amanda. Do you have a delivery for-"

"...i'm not here right now please leave a message. beep."

The whole store was listening to me talk to a deceiving voice mail. If you are a person with a tricky introduction on your answering machine, please change it so this awkward situation doesn't occur to other innocent victims.

What's in a blog?

Mark and I have recently decided to join the blogosphere. Naturally we asked ourselves...what the heck is a blog? Like all good intellectuals we researched. The following definitions have been posted on the interwebs and are therefore true.

n.
Short for weblog.
A meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary that gives the author the illusion that people are interested in their stupid, pathetic life. Consists of such riveting entries as "homework sucks" and "I slept until noon today."
-Urban Dictionary

"A website that contains an online personal journal with relections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer; also: the contents of such a site."
-Merriam Webster

"A website with regular entries; descriptions of events such as graphics or video...Entries are most commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "
-Wikipedia

"A weblog is kind of a continual tour, with a human guide who you get to know. There are many guides to choose from, each develops and audience, and there's also comraderie and politics between the people who run weblogs, they point to each other, in all kinds of structures, graphs, loops, etc."
-problogger

For Mark and I...it's a way to kill time. If you're reading this you are probably our only follower. Props to you lonely pathetic person reading our posts (Mark does not share this view, in fact he will take it a step further and ask "What the hell is wrong with you?"). You are greatly appreciated.

Snubbers Anonymous.

Have you ever been totally snubbed by someone? We had not, until today. But apparently it happens in the world, and they call it giving someone the "cold" shoulder. Ya know what gets our goat? When someone accuses you of having a cold shoulder doesn't tell you to your face. Instead, they talk behind your back and make it an issue that nobody in their right mind would care about. That's how our(well mostly Mandy's) day started. Generally work is a safe place, we get along with our co-workers, joke, and even have fun. Today was NOT that day. I'll let Mandy take it from here...

Today we received a mass email to all employees here at said work place about individuals who are not being team players and are silently snubbing. Mark and I believe this to be counterproductive. The great thing about snubbing is the conflict is never acknowledged in the first place! The snubbing receiver could choose never to accept they have been victim to a negative social tension.  So what is the response of the general public when receiving such an email?!....SNUB! Snub anyone you believe to be the culprit. There you have it ladies and gentlemen, a workplace full of silent-uppity-better-than-everyone-super-snubbers.
