What's in a blog?

Mark and I have recently decided to join the blogosphere. Naturally we asked ourselves...what the heck is a blog? Like all good intellectuals we researched. The following definitions have been posted on the interwebs and are therefore true.

n.
Short for weblog.
A meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary that gives the author the illusion that people are interested in their stupid, pathetic life. Consists of such riveting entries as "homework sucks" and "I slept until noon today."
-Urban Dictionary

"A website that contains an online personal journal with relections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer; also: the contents of such a site."
-Merriam Webster

"A website with regular entries; descriptions of events such as graphics or video...Entries are most commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "
-Wikipedia

"A weblog is kind of a continual tour, with a human guide who you get to know. There are many guides to choose from, each develops and audience, and there's also comraderie and politics between the people who run weblogs, they point to each other, in all kinds of structures, graphs, loops, etc."
-problogger

For Mark and I...it's a way to kill time. If you're reading this you are probably our only follower. Props to you lonely pathetic person reading our posts (Mark does not share this view, in fact he will take it a step further and ask "What the hell is wrong with you?"). You are greatly appreciated.
